Background Extra point kicks (PATs) in the NFL postseason are generally highly reliable. In recent postseasons, there have typically been very few misses, with data showing around 1-2 missed extra points across all playoff games. However, this season there have been significantly more missed extra points than usual. The postseason consists of 14 games total: 6 Wild Card games, 4 Divisional Round games, 2 Conference Championships, the Pro Bowl, and the Super Bowl.

Resolution Criteria This market will track the total number of missed extra point attempts during the 2024 NFL postseason, starting with Wild Card weekend and ending with Super Bowl LVIII. A missed extra point occurs when:

• The ball is snapped and the kick attempt fails to go through the uprights

• The snap is fumbled or mishandled, preventing a kick attempt

• The kick is blocked

The following scenarios do NOT count as missed extra points:

• Teams choosing to go for 2-point conversions instead of kicking

• Penalties occurring before the snap that negate the play

• Games that are postponed or canceled (these attempts simply won't be counted)

The market will resolve based on official NFL statistics after the Super Bowl concludes. If the postseason structure changes (e.g., additional games are added), all attempts in official NFL postseason games will still be counted.

Should there be a dispute, the rules provided will control over the answer to the question itself. While the question is intended to provide an easy way for people to bet on their beliefs, it is not the end all be all, and all traders should look at the rules. The unlikely event of significant ambiguity regarding whether the resolution criteria have been met. I reserve the right to resolve a question to a percentage that I deem fair. I will give notice before I do this.
