Background

The U.S. maintains significant military presence globally, particularly in the Indo-Pacific, Europe, and Middle East. Current geopolitical tensions include great power competition with China and Russia, ongoing NATO commitments, and various regional conflicts. The U.S. Marine Corps' Force Design 2030 and other military service operating concepts are specifically designed to address future threats from potential adversaries.

Resolution Criteria

This market will resolve YES if:

• U.S. military forces are officially deployed to an overseas location in response to an armed conflict

• The deployment involves combat operations or direct military engagement

• The deployment is authorized by proper military command structure

This market will resolve NO if:

• No such deployment occurs before January 1, 2030

• U.S. forces are only involved in training exercises, peacekeeping missions, or humanitarian operations

• The deployment is purely for logistical support or advisory roles without combat operations

Considerations

• Regular rotational deployments to existing bases (like those in Germany, Japan, or South Korea) do not count as deployment to a conflict

• Special operations or covert missions that are not officially acknowledged will not count for resolution

• The deployment must be in response to a new or escalating conflict, not a continuation of existing deployments

• If U.S. forces are deployed to a conflict zone but do not engage in combat operations, this will not count for resolution
