Gallup polls show that 61% of American supported abolishing the Electoral College as of 2020:

Thinking for a moment about the way in which the president is elected in this country, which would you prefer -- to amend the Constitution so the candidate who receives the most total votes nationwide wins the election, or to keep the current system, in which the candidate who wins the most votes in the Electoral College wins the election?

Pew Research polls showed that 65% supported abolishing the EC as of July 2023:

• Change the current system, so the candidate who receives the most total votes nationwide wins the election

• Keep the current system, in which the candidate who wins the

  most votes in the Electoral College wins the election

This poll will resolve whenever Gallup or Pew does another poll on this question, provided it has been at least 3 months since the November 2024 election. Either question wording will be allowed ("change" or "amend"), as Pew's research question made little difference. Any number above 65% in favor will resolve as YES.
