Will GPT-5 have function-calling ability to some o1-like reasoning model, upon release?

If some o1-like model has better reasoning than gpt5, openai might want gpt-5 to be able to function-call to that other AI with better reasoning, on reasoning intensive tasks. Will this be known to happen, within a week of the release?

Wait, what is the statement here? This is really hard to follow. Is it just GPT5 has function calling or it has a specific function to call a reasoning model?

@0xSMW Neither, it seems like he's stating here that reasoning capabilities will just be part of the GPT-5 model itself, no routing to any separate model. Simply chatting and reasoning capabilities all in one model.

They might update gpt-4o to dispatch to o1 on some questions before the release of gpt-5
