This is about whether they're out of business, OR digital license plates themselves are seriously failing in CA.

  • If Reviver is out of business => YES

  • If they fire a bunch of people, then sell their IP or do some other escape without officially going out of business, but it was in a failing state with no future, still counts as failure => YES

  • If digital license plates are no longer allowed in CA but company still exists, still counts as a failure, even if other states have digital license plates. If CA is out. I'm setting the rules this way to make judgment simpler. => YES

  • If acquired while plates are still a successful business => NO

  • If still in business and digital license plates still legal in CA or other states, => NO

  • ALSO, in any case, if their plates themselves are no longer allowed to be used in CA, whether or not any other company's plate is allowed, this counts as failure (after a period of time where their plates are not allowed) => YES

  • Other cases where the company clearly is seriously failing and no longer doing business can also resolve YES. I'll try to resolve this according to the spirit, with no tricks or legalese. It's about whether any time through end date, the company effectively is a no-go to do business in CA and this idea of digital plates from them in CA will not happen.

I'm not betting on this, but I wish nothing but doom on reviver

I see them all the time now. They're kinda blurry and grey, don't stand out. I have also seen otherwise reasonable car people on youtube talk about how they want something like this. Not sure why but my perception that these are instantly useless & dead seems clearly out of step with the population

Not sure why so many haters on maker of digital plates but maybe related

bought Ṁ10 YES

"Reduce. Reuse. Recycle." On an unnecessary tablet that replaced a simple metal plate is some level of irony I was not expecting from license plates.

Now that I know what they look like I see them a lot
