I debated Greg Tanaka on Saturday, August 24th, on Liron Shapira's Doom Debates podcast on the topic of California bill SB 1047. I took the pro-SB 1047 position and Greg took the anti-SB 1047 position. The debate will be released in the next few days.

During the debate, we had the following exchange:
Holly >I want to know what you would do if SB 1047 was passed.
Greg >Sure. We would have to move.
Holly >You would leave California?
Greg >Yeah, we would have to move.

Greg >I would probably have to change profession, yeah. Because there would be significant liability, yes. You would have to. Yeah, absolutely. I mean, it's a disaster.

I offered to bet him on whether he and his company would actually leave California if the bill were passed, but he didn't take me up on it.

Do you think he'll move?

Resolves NO if neither Greg Tanaka nor his company have moved out of California within one year of the passage of SB 1047 (question set to resolve 10/28/2025-- will update if and when the bill passes). Resolves N/A is the bill doesn't pass.
