Mang0, widely regarded as one of the best Super Smash Bros. Melee players of all time (in contention only with Armada and perhaps, less popularly, Hungrybox), has not officially been the #1 player since 2014. Nevertheless, he is still active and has recently had impressive performances versus some of the best players, including Cody Schwab and Zain (the consensus #1 and #2 players, in some order, by a fair margin).

Immediately resolves as YES if Mang0 is ranked #1 on the most widely-accepted community ranking, as determined by Liquipedia (or its equivalent, if it no longer applies). Official summer/half-year rankings count and would trigger a YES resolution.

Resolves as NO if a period of one year passes without Mang0 recording a single tournament set in a major tournament. DQs do not count as recorded sets. Immediately resolves to NO upon Mang0's death.

Resolution criteria may be revised if Mang0 is for some reason unable to compete for a period of a year or more but, either explicitly or presumptively, is not retiring, e.g. due a major injury.

  • Update 2025-07-08 (PST) (AI summary of creator comment): The NO resolution criterion based on one year of inactivity will not trigger if the inactivity is due to a non-permanent ban. The timer will reset once the ban is lifted.

Clarification: The market's NO resolution criterion will not trigger if Mang0 is inactive for a year due to a non-permanent ban. In such a case, the timer will reset when his ban is up.
