(Also, the plan only claims eradication of the three "most dangerous" predator types, not of all carnivore species. I know New Zealand's biodiversity is limited, but probably not three-types-of-predator limited? Clarification needed.)

@b575 No, definitely not all carnivores!! I hadn't even thought about that interpretation. The idea isn't to literally end predation! Just the main introduced land-based predators that do the most damage to our ecosystems, of which rats, stoats, and possums are the main three. If they're all ~eradicated in NZ in 2050, this will resolve YES.

@b575 I suppose "pest-free" would have been a better term, but the government uses "predator-free", so 🤷‍♂

@NcyRocks Correction: all mustelids (inc. ferrets and weasels), not just stoats.
