The experience of living is based on a foundation of sensoria from a physical body. That is, input from organs such as lungs that must breathe, a stomach that must be fed, a bladder that must be emptied, muscles that must be moved, etc. Will an artificial intelligence ever be created to experience these things, or subtitutes thereof, as relative states of comfort/discomfort? Includes robot bodies, and virtual/"cyber" simulation solutions.

How would this resolve no if the timescale is 'ever'?

People may decide that it's technically or philosophically impossible.

Did you mean to have this resolve at the end of the year?

Yes.

How does it resolve then?

< or > 50%, wherever it stands. If exactly 50%, then perhaps a coinflip.

This method has the problem that someone can flip it at the last moment and make a profit. Will you try to account for that?

Oh, you mean like "painting the tape"? Hadn't thought of that. If it deviates much from 50%, that'd be expensive, though. Not sure how to account for it without introducing my own bias.

Wouldn't they be compensated immediately with an even bigger profit, if they snipe it at the right moment? From my own experience, it's a nightmare trying to run a market on gameable resolution criteria:
