I modified the title to be crearer about the intetion of the question

I argue that AI art is a short-lived trend that will die out in the next 2-5 years. I believe that AI art users are not loyal because they are not in it for the right reasons, such as getting attention or making money. I argues that AI art is not sustainable because it produces cheap thrills but not the long-lasting fulfillment that real art does.

Here are the reasons why I think AI art will die out:

* Users are not loyal: They are attracted to AI art for the wrong reasons, such as getting attention or making money, and will abandon it when the novelty wears off.

* AI art is not sustainable: It produces cheap thrills but not the long-lasting fulfillment that real art does.

* AI art is limited: It has reached its peak performance and there will always be limitations to what it can do compared to human artists.

* Legal issues: The use of data in AI art training sets is murky and could lead to lawsuits and restrictions on AI art.

* AI art is not democratic: It is actually a tool for oppression and control.

It is important to note that this is just my opinion on AI art. There are many other perspectives on this topic, and it is up to each individual to decide what they believe.

I will not participate on this market. This market will resolve YES if midjourney's active userbase drops below 500k users according to market research and active discord members.

Lot of politics in the description, but it's a good question, will midjourney survive at the top

What qualifies as art? Would super photo realistic images count? Or what about something like sora

@GeorgeIngebretsen Any digital creation (including super realistic photos, stylized images, or videos made by Sora) created 100% by AI

@Zlix01 you know Photoshop can do AI backgrounds, in/outpainting

Do you have a source that you're using to estimate the size of the AI art user base?

@JonahWeissman We can calculate from a lot of things. In case of Midjourney (for example) count of discord server members, or twitter followers etc.

But we have a recent public report, you can see here:

https://photutorial.com/midjourney-statistics/#:~:text=Midjourney%20has%2016.4%20million%20users,2.5%20million%20daily%20active%20users.

would a digital painting where the subject is hand drawn and the rest is generated count as AI art? or are you more specifically referring to art that is entirely generated by a prompt?

@ASomewhatRudeParakeet I specifically referring to an art is generated entirely by AI

I will not particpate in this market
