@oh I don't think so, unless these threads within markets count! Which is arguable, but then the market should have resolved YES immediately.

@chrisjbillington Ah, I see. This is considered “spamming markets” because it notifies everyone, just as (presumably) reposts notify everyone.

I don't think your followers get notified if you make a post a comment, but yes, people watching the market do.

@chrisjbillington Just evaluating based on the description (italics = ✔️, bold = X):

A forum where people can discuss stuff without having to make a market for it.

Where meta discussions can be done and phrasing of questions can be sorted out without spamming markets.

Basically, doing a lot of the stuff that's done in manifold discord without going to discord

Looks like the traders didn't react to the "maniforums" discussion

I feel like this would lose some of the appeal of having the markets be the medium for communication.

@IsaacKing there's a ton of discussion related to whales V Minnows market that happened on discord and if we just had a post/forum thread you pinned to the top comment in your market as a creator and people go to that thread instead of making the market spammy, then it'll be helpful, i think

I guess what I want is for the market comment section to become more forum-like. I don't think there should be a completely separate forum.

Well, we do have a posts feature: manifold.markets/latestposts but not a good feed for them or a way to search through them.
What kinds of things would you like write / discuss?

@Sinclair Oh I wasn't aware of this latest posts endpoint. I was thinking that we've got good forums in places like CodeForces, Leetcode, Stack exchanges, and a question like this one could have better discussion in a forum mode with threads and replies. That could have a karma system (for example) to provide users with reputation which can tie back into reputation in market makers. Prolly you guys have discussed this already, just sharing some thoughts.
