The Singaporean government has sent Manifold an email asking about potentially collaborating on making markets with Manifold, see more in the comments in the question below:

It'll be a great opportunity for Manifold to work on real issues and to grow, but some users say that Singapore is authoritarian and shouldn't be collaborated with.

A useful (not definitive) test of whether or not this is a bad idea is whether the markets in question can have comments critical of the Singaporean government, and whether Manifold employees and leadership feel comfortable to post those kinds of comments.

Why turn down the chance to collaborate with one of the most well run governments in the world? What's the nature of the proposal?

@PlainBG The Singapore government makes markets on Manifold which predict something useful to them, such as future housing demand and housing prices

I support democracy, but I also support free trade with authoritarian governments and I don't see why this is any different. And amongst authoritarian governments, SIngapore is far better than most.

If it happens, it needs to be done in a way that prevents dependence in any way, otherwise they'll basically assume de facto control
