what happened here today

"as its legal tender" kinda reads like singular, but i assume this is YES if bitcoin gains equal status with the hryvnia?

@itsTomekK "equal status with the hryvnia" -- I doubt it makes any sense at all.

What do you mean by "yes"? Hryvnia is national currency -- chances to switch national currency is about 0% at all.

Bitcoin also will not be recognized as currency, because it is already recognized as a digital asset by law.

So, what is this question about?

predicts YES

@SergiiNechuiviter I guess we'd need to go much deeper to define it precisely, but followin Salvador's case. If taxes could be paid in BTC or businesses could do their accounting in BTC and merchants accepting its payments on par with hryvnia - it would resolve to YES

predicts NO

@itsTomekK As I understand the current situation:

  • yes, you could have an account in Bitcoin (or any other digital asset)

  • no, payments are allowed only in hryvnia for internal purchases

  • no, taxes can be paid only in hryvnia
