She moved from Canada to Miami. Shes fully invested in making it work lol

@Pickle I am new here. How does this "stock" thing works?

predicts BUY 1y

@bfdc the stocks work the same as YES/NO markets but instead of displaying a percentage it shows a Ṁ amount. That amount is just the percentage obscured behind some math. It was changed to make it appear more like an actual stock.

IMO it was not a good change and basically ruined the orbiter stocks by making it more confusing to bet on them. The number of 'shares' you have do not directly correlate to the value they hold so it's annoying to deal with. As an example I hold Ṁ150 of Erudite Stock, which is officially .0456 shares. However at the current price (Ṁ1043) my .0456 shares should be valued at Ṁ48.

Also the value is still capped at a certain point as opposed to being able to grow infinitely since the underlying math is still based on a percentage from 0-100%. So if you see a stock valued at Ṁ1300 you might be tempted to buy 'BUY' shares because it's obviously a popular stock so you would expect the value to grow further over time but there is very little room for it to grow at that point. The only way to make a real profit on high value stocks is to bet on that stock's value dropping at some point and shorting it.

Here are a couple of other discussions you can read through from when the changes were initially made that explain most of it in more detail.

@OrbiterVoltron wow, thank you very much for your comprehensive explanation!

So, basically the stock price represents expectations of the market on whether the stock will further grow? And the stock itself is not tied to any value? In such a case it is always better to bet "No"
