A pardon would just mean he is transferred to Minnesota to serve out his state sentence, which Trump can't pardon. In general, conditions in federal prison are better than those in state prison, so a pardon wouldn't do Chauvin any favors unless he could somehow get the governor of Minnesota to pardon him as well.
