Three new names are on the provisional suspension list as of today. Out of the three, the only one that counts toward this question is Bonnamour. So this question will not resolve to zero. As far as I can tell, the count is currently 1. There's still no entry for Hessmannn, but if he appears, that would make it 2. [image]
Anti-doping is busy! Tolhoek this time. > The Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) informs that Dutch rider Antwan Tolhoek has been notified of an Adverse Analytical Finding for Anabolic Androgenic Steroids (AAS)* in a sample collected during an out-of-competition control on 27 November 2023. https://www.uci.org/pressrelease/uci-statement-concerning-antwan-tolhoek/3aZTMuDgLOGFn4MiwPBqTX Note the date is 27 November 2023. Even though Tolhoek is not on a WT team right now, he was signed to a WT team (LIDL-Trek) at the time of the positive sample. So the count for this market is now 2, and it will not resolve to 1 or any smaller number. [image]

How many riders signed to a (mens) WorldTeam or Womens WorldTeam will have an ADRV suspension or sanction published between today and 31 December 2024?

Note, this is through the end of the calendar year 2024, not just the UCI 2024 season.

The source for the resolution number will be ONLY based on the lists on this page, Provisional suspensions, Anti-doping Rule Violations and Prohibited Association List on UCI.org.

The two separate files:

ADRV - Provisional suspensions

and

ADRV Sanctions

Are occasionally updated with the results of new ADRV provisional suspensions and sanctions. Any rider currently on those pages as of today, will not count. Any new rider, regardless of date of offense, will count only if they are on a WorldTeam or Womens WorldTeam at the time the offense occurred or the time it is published.

If the rider is provisionally suspended, it counts. If they appear on the sanctions list, it counts. If they never appear on either list, it does not count.

Some examples that could be relevant:

Robert Stannard got suspended in 2023 but the conduct was reportedly from 2018-2019 and no date is listed. Because he was on a WorldTeam at the time of publication, he would have counted as 1.

Michel Hessmann is claimed (by the team) to be involved in an anti-doping issue, but does not appear on these documents at this time. He will count if his name appears on the lists, but currently does not count.

Miguel Angel Lopez was suspended in 2023 while not on a WorldTeam, but his suspension is related to something from 2022 when he was on a WorldTeam so he would have counted as 1.

Ask questions, I don't want this to come down to some dumb technicality. I will try to update the count-so-far as the season progresses.

Right now might be a good time to do any workshopping on the criteria of this one.

Are we all happy with the current criteria: All that counts is if the rider is on a WT/WWT team at the time they are added to the list.

I just have a hard time figuring out any other clear, consistent rule pattern that takes into account past behavior that comes to light and also current behavior. Do you think the way this is written matches the way people will perceive this?

Here are the recent contents of these files. Nothing here will count for this question unless the rider gets a new entry.
