It's like some of y'all don't know about the Reichstag fire

@Lorelai Those who know about that, is DEEP in to WWII history.
Tonkin bay or Stalingrad. Turning points ....... 0.o

It seems the shooter turned himself in via his father, telling his dad where he was after his dad said he would tell the fbi.

The shooter was a student for one semester at a university before going to technical college, does that count?

Obviously, Christianity looks down upon murder. That’s not to say “observant Christians” don’t kill people, but I also don’t think Tyler Robinson was trying to incite a holy war or something. Of course, he could be a nominal church member regardless of Christian identity.

@thepurplebull ermmmm have you been paying attention to the so-called Christian maga government? The entire movement has appropriated Christianity to turn it into something coterminous with intolerance and hatred.

@nonnihil Do you have reason to suspect this? Or is it just a hunch or something?

@jessald Nah, it's just on my metaphorical bingo card. "What would be the dumbest, most appalling next detail for this increasingly dumb and appalling story?"

Do casings count as part of the bullets?

@AndrewHebb Unless specified otherwise, assume yes. You can't have a complete bullet without the casing.

@ac80 Everything I can find online suggests that this is incorrect and that the term "bullet" properly refers to something other than the cartridge case.

@Lorelai Unbelievable. A young man who doesn’t share his parents’ politics.

Coming from a Utahn here. People seem to think everyone here is conservative. That's not true, we do have a (somewhat loud) minority of Democrat-leaning people, which obviously becomes a majority in the cities. I've seen people say he must be a Republican since he's in Utah, which seems misinformed. (Also, why would a Republican shoot Charlie). Just something to keep in mind (although I think most people already know that this makes sense)

@Mrdudeguy I'm pretty sure its practically confirmed he was registered as an independent.

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/who-is-tyler-robinson-suspect-charlie-kirks-murder-2025-09-12/

"He was a registered voter but was not affiliated with a political party, according to voter records. He is listed as an "inactive" voter, which indicates he did not cast a ballot in last year's presidential election, when Republican Donald Trump defeated Democrat Kamala Harris."

Helldiver reference (the arrows) on one of the bullet casings and tons of pictures of him as a kid from his mom's Facebook account where he's wearing Minecraft shirts. I think it's safe to resolve Gamer to Yes.

@256 I’m not entirely sure what this passage concretely describes but:

The suspect was taken into custody at about 11 p.m. on Thursday in Washington County, in southwestern Utah, after surrendering at a sheriff’s office, officials said.

“When our investigators got down there, they were able to peacefully make contact with him and move through that process of making the arrest,” Beau Mason, Utah’s public safety commissioner, said in an interview. “He was very compliant with that.”

@MachiNi they knocked him out with their rifle butts and then he was compliant through the remainder of the process

Beau Mason, Utah’s public safety commissioner, said the 22-year-old accused of Charlie Kirk’s killing surrendered to law enforcement officers at a sheriff’s office in southwest Utah. “When our investigators got down there, they were able to peacefully make contact with him and move through that process of making the arrest,” Mason said in an interview. “He was very compliant with that.” Mason added that the suspect’s family “did a great job of helping him come to a positive resolution to turn himself in.”

The police themselves are literally saying he surrendered and turned himself in.

@vdb Im also interested in how you’re going to resolve this option since people keep betting it down while we have the police literally saying he did what the option says.

@MachiNi I suppose people will sort it out eventually.

I will award 500 mana to the first reputable non-Twitter article confirming this tweet (that he was a groyper), posted here.

@Gabrielle Then why would he have Bella Ciao song and "Hey fascist, catch!" on the casings? Is it all a false flag? I don't believe this unless some serious evidence comes up.

@ac80 Apparently both parts of groyper culture, with Bella being "reclaimed" and Catch being a Helldivers reference. I don't know a thing about it but that's the argument being made.

@Frogswap lol, this would be wild if true.

bought Ṁ27 Answer #dIuPphAdCt NO

@ac80 obviously to create animosity towards people who don't like fascism. Have you not heard about the Reichstag fire? Have you never picked up a history book?

@Lorelai I assure you I know history better than you. It's just very improbable in these political assassination cases to be false flags, vast majority are genuine. In fact I don't even remember out of the top of my head a single false flag massacre or assassination in the whole 21st century globally.

All claimed false flags are conspiracy theories that are divorced form reality: 9/11, Las Vegas shooting, Sandy Hook, Paul Pelosi Attack ect.

So unless there is strong evidence that it's a false flag, it's just a wild conspiracy theory.

@Lorelai It's beside the point, but are you familiar with George Dimitrov, the Bulgarian communist accused of setting the Reischtag fire who successfully acquitted himself in the Nazi court? You can read his opening statements here. An incredibly inspiring story
